Pregnancy And Vitamin D

Vitamin D is a big part of good nutrition, but this nutrient pregnancy so much has other functions in the body. Vitamin D is basically the role of maintenance of calcium in this role, she maintains the level of calcium in bones healthy. During pregnancy, vitamin D may work in a similar manner. However, the specific vitamin also affects hundreds of different genes and affect many areas of well-being.
The research surrounding vitamin D is growing day by day, and recently the American Academy of Dermatology has updated their recommendations to warn the public not to not getting enough vitamin D. Insufficient vitamin D is where you do not have the optimal amount of vitamin D circulating in your body, but are not identifiable deficiencies in nutrients. Referring to their new guidelines, the American Academy of Dermatology new guideline is:
“Vitamin D supports the position statement of belief longtime Academy on safe ways to get this important vitamin – through a healthy diet that includes foods naturally rich in vitamin D, vitamin D, food and fortified beverages and supplements of vitamin D, “said David Pariser, president of the American Academy of Dermatology.
“The recommendation to update for those who practice daily Sun Protection recognizes that, while protecting the skin against harmful UV rays is important, while maintaining both adequate levels of vitamin D. Concern about Vitamin D should not lead people to forego the sunscreen, but rather invites a conversation with their doctor about how to ensure adequate and safe intake of vitamin D and protect against skin cancer. ”
Does this change the guidelines on vitamin D and pregnancy? Not specifically. You should always get sun exposure acceptable for the manufacture of vitamin and reach the rest thanks to a healthy and balanced diet. Supplementation may help as well.
