Frankie Beverly|Frankie Beverly And Maze:Though they have nearly four decades of music behind them, Frankie Beverly and Maze are still considered one of the recording industry’s best kept secrets.
Beverly’s son, Anthony, is working to change that.
He’s paying homage to his father and the group with the release of “Silky Soul Music … An All-Star Tribute to Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly,” which was released digitally this week and will be available in stores Sept. 29. It features Mary J. Blige, Musiq Soulchild, Joe and the Clark sisters, among other acts.
Anthony Beverly, an accomplished drummer and one of album’s producers, developed the project, calling it “long overdue.
“I just wanted to honor my father,” said Beverly. “I want to properly honor my father’s contributions to the industry.”
Not only is this an accomplished group of artists, with diverse and distinctive voices, they are all Frankie Beverly and Maze fans,” he added.
Blige does a version of their joyous “Before I Let Go,” while Musiq does a rendition of “Silky Soul,” the title track on one of the band’s most successful releases. The first single, “Can’t Get Over You,” by Joe, is a cover of another classic hit.
I tried not to pull too far away from their vibe, because I’m a big fan,” Joe said. “But one of the great things about Frankie and Maze is that their sound is still relevant and fresh today. Their concerts remain one of the hottest tickets in town.
It’s kind of sad that these guys have not been recognized as they should and that’s one of the reasons why I wanted to jump on this record.”
The urban contemporary, funk, soul and R&B group has never received one of the industry’s coveted Grammys or other awards, and don’t have a platinum album to their credit, but they have several gold albums and continue to perform to sold-out audiences. Their relationship with fans has evolved into an almost cult-like experience.

Disney will now benefit from any movie or a game based on characters such as Iron Man, Spider-Man, X-Men and many others; extending its reach to the young male population it had somewhat neglected will definitely be good for the entertainment giant.

Bj Services,Baker Hughes, Bhi:Oilfield services company Baker Hughes Inc said on Monday that it would buy peer BJ Services Co for $5.5 billion in a move to take on sector giants Halliburton Co and Schlumberger Ltd.
The stock-and-cash deal values BJ at a 16 percent premium over its closing price on Friday, said the companies, whose boards have approved the transaction.
Oilfield service companies have suffered over the past year as oil and gas producers sharply cut spending on new projects. The proposed deal comes after natural gas prices slid to a seven-year low last week.
The deal will make Baker Hughes a major player in the key North American pressure pumping, in which gas or liquids are injected into wells to increase production.
Baker Hughes currently ranks as the fourth-largest oilfield services company by market value.
This has long been eyed by Baker to establish a more competitive position against the other two players,” said Capital One Southcoast analyst Pierre Connor. “It’s not a huge premium, but I think the market has been holding up BJ’s price in anticipation of something like this.
BJ Services stockholders will receive 0.40035 shares of Baker Hughes and $2.69 in cash for each of their shares, which totals $17.94 a share based on Friday’s closing price.

Tiffany Shepherd was a biology teacher at Port St. Lucie High School, until last week when she was fired.

Miss Shepherd claims she was fired abruptly after the school found out she was working as a bikini mate for ‘Smokin Em’ Charters, a fishing boat that offers fishing excursions with bikini clad (or less) females. (Why didn’t I think of that business idea? Kidding.)
The St. Lucie School District defended their decision saying that Shepherd was dismissed due to her plentiful absences at the school, missing 30 days so far this year. The district also noticed that:
a) Shepherd was previously fired from another school for the same reason; excessive absenteeism.
b) Shepherd was released BEFORE the district was aware of her bikini gig
FYI, Shepherd will be paid until the end of the school year.

Tamara Braun,Susan Haskell:Rachael Ray and “The Tyra Banks Show” won the talk show categories at the Daytime Emmy Awards for the second consecutive year on Sunday, while the women of “The View” ended Ellen DeGeneres’ four-year reign as best talk show host.
Cristina’s Court,” now in its third season on Fox, beat out veterans “Judge Judy” and “The People’s Court,” among other nominees, to claim the prize for best legal/courtroom program also for a second year.
Rachael Ray” took home the “entertainment” talk show prize, while “Tyra Banks” won the “informative” prize. Both shows are syndicated. The talk show category was split into two for the first time last year.
Both Ray and DeGeneres were nominated for best talk show host, alongside Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa of “Live with Regis and Kelly,” but they lost to ABC’s “The View” and co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters.
But “The View” was a surprise absentee from the entertainment talk show category.
Meanwhile, CBS’ “The Bold and The Beautiful” was named best drama, beating out ABC’s “All My Children” and NBC’s “Days of Our Lives.” But the soap won just two prizes overall.
The top acting prizes were shared among the soaps, with Christian LeBlanc winning for his lead role in CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” and Susan Haskell taking the corresponding prize for ABC’s “One Life To Live.

was talking about a Perez Hilton rumor. As such i wanted to know what it is just like everyone is looking for. By the way if you are a noob and dunno who is Perez Hilton, it shows a lack of Google usage man. Perez Hilton is the guy whom the whole of Hollywood and most celebrities dislike to hell!
He is a blogger after all but I appreciate the guy as he just says what he wanna say! Anyway back to the rumor of Perez Hilton. I searched among the tweets and find this: Man Pregnant With Perez Hilton’s Love Child!
Come on insider! I can’t believe it and any noob will neither do it. This news was in the newslong time ago and the man which is showed as the Perez Hilton rumor is named Thomas Beattie and is a female born transgenders to male. This is not Perez and neither Jeremy!
So this is just another rumor maybe or a bait article from The Insider? Now next rumor I came across is Hilton said Paula Abdul would return to American Idol. So what? How do I care? How do you care so much about this piece of crap to make it a world wide searched rumor?
You know what human? I think this sweety Perez Hilton rumor is nothing more than a rumor which does not have any content! We know how much the celebrities and super dirty famous people dislike Perez Hilton. So this is probably just a sweet buzz spit-bait against Perez. Anyway until now I could find anything worth calling it the real Perez Hilton rumor as he himself is a big source of rumor.
