August 17, 2009
Dancing With The Stars 2009:The wait is almost over. Tom Bergeron will announce the list of celebrities who will compete on the ninth season of Dancing with the Stars. The announcement will be made live tomorrow morning, August 17th, on Good Morning America. The new season will begin with a three-night premiere event, with the first night to air on Monday, September 21st at 8:00 PM on ABC, WSB-TV in Atlanta.
For many moms, Dancing With the Stars is their guilty pleasure; a time to escape into the make-believe world of TV land after the kids have gone to bed. Who will be among this year’s competitors? Tori Spelling was rumored to be a new cast member, but she recently denied the rumor. Recent reports from Us Weekly and MSNBC state that La Toya and Jermaine Jackson, plus Lou Ferrigno, Michael Jackson’s personal trainer, have all been approached by the show’s executives. Mirror reports that Paula Abdul may turn up as a competitor, having left American Idol.
Samantha Harris and Tom Bergeron will return to host the popular show, as will judges Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Len Goodman.
Since winning last year’s Dancing With the Stars competition, Shawn Johnson has received offers for movies, books and reality shows, and recently signed a deal with Nintendo for a Wii gymnastics game. She’s also been seen on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Extreme Makeover Home Edition and The Secret Life of the American Teenager. She is certainly a good role model for kids, as she has never been involved in any scandals, and her drive and determination are inspiring.
