Space Shuttle Landing Today/Space Shuttle:CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — Space shuttle Endeavour and its seven astronauts streaked toward Earth for a late morning touchdown Friday to end a long but successful space station construction mission.
Endeavour was due to touch down at 10:48 a.m.
Mission Control waited until practically the last minute, monitoring offshore rain showers. But the rain stayed far enough away and commander Mark Polansky was told he could home.
While visiting the international space station, the astronauts put on a new addition to Japan’s $1 billion lab, installed fresh batteries, and stockpiled some big spare parts. They accomplished all of their major objectives and were part of the biggest gathering ever in space. Counting the six station residents, the crowd totaled 13.
The shuttle mission lasted 16 days and spanned 6.5 million miles. But it was the 138th day in orbit Friday for Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata, who moved into the space station last March. He swapped places with American Timothy Kopra, who rode up on Endeavour.
Wakata said he’s yearning for some sushi, as soon as he’s back on the planet, and a soak in a hot spring once he’s back in Japan. At the top of his list, though, was seeing his wife and son.
The shuttle astronauts carried out five spacewalks — tying a record for a single flight — and helped their station colleagues when a toilet flooded and an air purifier overheated. The commode, one of three on the linked shuttle and station, was fixed in a day. But the air-cleansing system is still out of order.
Another highlight: The astronauts got to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing with their own spacewalk.
Japan’s Kibo lab — which means Hope — received a front porch for outdoor experiments during Endeavour’s visit. An X-ray telescope and space environment monitor were installed on the porch, along with communication equipment.
The mission concluded work on the lab — the largest one at the orbiting outpost — that spanned more than a year and three shuttle flights. Next up for the Japanese will be the debut launch in September of an unmanned cargo ship.
As for NASA, seven shuttle flights remain to finish the space station, now 83 percent complete with nearly 700,000 pounds of mass. The next launch, by Discovery, is targeted for the end of August.

Ben Brown Baton Rouge/Ben Brown Missing:BATON ROUGE, LOS ANGELES—Detectives from the Office of Sheriff are searching for a Baton Rouge man named “Ben Carey Brown”, who disappeared on Wednesday morning. Ben Brown was last seen while entering into his office located at “United Plaza Boulevard” on Wednesday morning. “I just miss him so much and I love him and I just want him back,” she said.

“He would never go anywhere or do anything without telling me or letting me know what he’s doing,” she said. According to the Authorities, 28-year-old Ben Brown entered into the “Postlethwaite”& Netterville Building” situated at 8550 United Plaza Boulevard at round about 5:20 AM. Casey Rayborn Hicks (spokeswoman from Office of the Sheriff) said that video which they got from Surveillance camera doesn’t show him leaving the office.
Casey Rayborn Hicks further said that Detectives also found his car in the parking lot and his several personal things in the office. Officers searched for him in the office, grounds nearby the office building and also tried to locate Ben through calling his mobile phone but all in vain.

Michael Jackson Love Child/Omer bhatti/Michael Jackson’s rumored love child, Omer Bhatti, has revealed how the star made him his “honorary” son after inviting him to move in with him years ago.
Omer Bhatti, 25, hails from Norway, and lived at Neverland ranch for eight years. Rumors say Jackson fathered him during a one-night stand with his mom, Pia.
But he says there is no biological link between them, despite the rumors that he is Jackson’s secret son. He says the music legend was just his “best friend.”
Omer, who still lives in Norway, reveals that Jackson used to say that he was “like a son” to him and thinks that must be the reason for the love child rumors.
Confiding in a close friend from Oslo, Omer Bhatti said: “Michael Jackson is not my father. He and I were just very, very close. He was my best friend.”
Omer was a guest of honor at Jackson’s memorial service in L.A. two weeks ago – sitting along with the pop legend’s closest relatives in the front row.
“Michael always used to say I was like a son to him,” he said. “But my true parents are in Norway. The reason I was asked to sit with his family at the memorial service is because I was Michael’s closest friend – not because I am his son.”
Bhatti also confided in a girl pal: “Michael was such a special person to me and I cannot believe he is gone, I am in total shock. I have lost weight because I cannot eat anything. All I can think about is how Michael died.”
Omer Bhatti says he moved to Neverland Ranch in 1996 after Michael Jackson met him and his parents in Tunisia where 12-year-old Omer had been on holiday.
Jackson was so taken with Omer, who he dubbed “Little Michael,” that he had the adolescent boy, his mother, father and sister move to L.A. with him immediately.
Michael gave Omer’s mum Pia a job as a nanny for his son Prince Michael and employed dad Huayoun as a driver. Meanwhile, he and Omer grew very, very close.
Another of Omer’s friends, Ricky Harlow, also reveals how Omer’s bond with Jackson grew so strong that he shared the star’s bed – while his family stayed in a cottage in a different part of the sprawling Neverland complex.
Amazingly, the sleepovers took place at a time when Michael Jackson was still reeling from allegations that he had molested 13-year-old Jordan Chandler.

Dave And Chuck The Freak/89x Radio:Did the “Morning X” talk jocks on CIMX-FM (88.7, 89X) take a joke so far that their show was pulled from the air Thursday? Perhaps for good?
For the last few days, hosts Dave Hunter, Chuck the Freak and Lisa Way have been involved in something called “Operation Dark Stall,” a microphone-driven “investigation” that began Monday after Chuck said he found an unidentified station employee lurking in an employee restroom — where it was completely dark.
On Tuesday’s show, Chuck gave an eyewitness account — he said he took off after being startled by the ominous shadowy figure — and then the jocks (and callers) followed up with humorous speculation about what one might do in the dark loo.
They also called other 89X personalities and station employees and questioned them on the air, employing, of course, their usual brand of sarcasm. But the employee who was the target of their fun apparently didn’t take too kindly to the ongoing grilling and complained to management.
A station boss reportedly then issued a memo telling the “Morning X” team to cease discussing the incident immediately or face disciplinary action. Team members then proceeded to read the memo on the air. Perhaps that wasn’t the best job-preserving move, but it generated dozens of calls and e-mails and filled up plenty of entertaining air time. The possibility of the “Morning X” team getting fired over the incident suddenly became a hot topic.
The plot thickened Thursday when a member of the “Morning X” team told Names & Faces that the show would not be live today. Others at the station wouldn’t comment, and a call to general manager Eric Proksch didn’t turn up any info. He is reported to be out of the office until Monday.
Given the competitive nature of radio, morning talkers are known for whipping up listener interest with pranks and hoaxes. As of Thursday afternoon, the “Morning X” Web pages were still live and MP3s of the controversy were available to play.
Fans of the show have posted comments on the station’s social networking pages asking management not to kill it.
