“Rhythm And Booms Fireworks 2009″

Terry Kelly who is a President of Madison Fireworks Fund came up with an idea in 1993 to celebrate Independence Day with some Rhythm and some Booms.

rhythm and boomsSince 1993 in Madison, Wisconsin, Independence Day has been celebrated with Rhythm & Booms. This firework show on the Independence Day is known to be the largest fireworks show in the Midwest which goes on for around 35 minutes every year. The shells fired during the event are somewhat around 15,000. Combining the length and shells used in the show with the annual budget makes this firework display the largest on day show in Wisconsin. The event hosts around 300,000 people, mainly families and is held at the Warner Park on Madison, Wisconsin.

This year’s Rhythm & Booms have been postponed to Sunday because of a severe weather threat. Deb McCue, who is the vice president of Madison Fireworks Fund said and confirmed that the event has been postponed to Sunday, June 28.

The Mayor, Dave Cieslewicz announced that on Sunday, June 28, the full program will be carried out and volunteers should report on Sunday as they were told to on Saturday. The games of Madison Mallards are still to be held on Saturday at 5:05 PM as scheduled and they will also be played on Sunday at 3:05 PM.

As always, they fireworks show will be choreographed by WOLX 94.9 FM’s music broadcast which will start at 9:30 PM. The Organizers of the event have told the people to bring their own radios to enjoy the live announcements that will go on throughout the day and listen to the music that will accompany the fireworks.
